Burnley Rugby Union Football Club is delighted to announce that Simon Finnan has been appointed to the position of Head Coach.
Having spent the majority of his playing days with his hometown Club, including a promotion-winning period as Club Captain, he has also gained representative honours with Lancashire County sides.
Whilst still playing a major role in the Burnley 1st XV Simon has attained the relevant RFU Coaching Badges, which have enabled him to coach a number of Junior Sides and is currently working to develop the skills of our Junior Colts.
Simon commented, “I am excited to be able to take on the reigns of such a prestigious Club.
There is already a core of talented and enthusiastic senior players at the club and we will be looking to build on that from our Junior ranks and, hopefully, any new recruits we can attract to Burnley RUFC.”
Over the coming weeks I hope to build new foundations and take this Club up to the level that we deserve to play at. If anyone is interested in joining us, please do not hesitate to contact any of the Club officials or players. Or alternatively why not turn up to training on Tuesday & Thursday evenings or come along on a Saturday afternoon.
The Club would also like to wish ex-Coach Getty Schenkil all the best as he moves on to the challenging task, as the Head Coach, Manchester RFC.
