Girls winning weekend

Burnley fielded 3 girls’ teams this weekend all of which returned victorious.
The u13’s travelled to Bury for a round robin tournament and won 3 out of 4 matches with the top try scorers being Sasha, Lydia and Becca with only the strong Eccles team beating them. The next tournament is on 6th December at Preston Grasshoppers and should be a good event for them to attend.
The U15’s played Bury in their 4th cup match and again dominated the opposition with everyone putting in strong performances and 13 tries scored showed how well they are working together. It was difficult to run patterns of play but when pressure was applied to them they dealt with it quickly and efficiently only allowing a penalty in the last minute. The try scorers were : Anya Richmond 4, Emily Blyth 4, Kia Doyle 2, Sophie Gavin 1, Willow Bell 1, Holly Parker 1 and Alex Baker with 2 conversions.
The U18’s played NW Sirens and again showed that rugby beats size as they dominated the larger NW sirens team and won 57 – 5 with Polly Bell scoring and Cerys Ellis getting 2 tries and 6 conversions it was a good game to watch.
Plenty of tries for all of the teams shows that the commitment at training is paying off and should help them in the future.
