Mid Term Report
The season got off to an indifferent start as results in the main went against us and, on most occasions, - narrowly.Teams were affected by in availability of players through injury, etc.
Notable victories were recorded at Windermere, away, and most recently a magnificent win over St. Edwards O.B. where, despite going 13 points down early on, the lads rallied, dug in and played some good rugby to draw level.
A great day was capped by scoring a converted try in the dying minutes to win the game.
If we can carry on with this resolve and spirit we need fear no one.
For me the most poignant memory of the season so far was the sight of 100 or so kids of all shapes and sizes standing for 2 minutes with bowed heads in complete silence on Remembrance Sunday.
A fantastic sight and w hat our game stands for - respect & comradeship.
Thanks to everyone connected with the Junior Section - upon which the future of the club depends. In particular, I must mention, our wonderful ladies who perform miracles in the kitchen on Sunday mornings.
Of course a huge thanks is owed to our most generous Sponsors.
Lastly, a big thank you to EVERYBODY involved with the running of Burnley RUFC
- No easy task, but we will prevail!!
I hope you're enjoying a Merry Christmas and
Wish a Happy, and Prosperous New Year to all our Readers.
Yours Sincerely
Stuart Douglas
