Colts Win!
Colts hold discipline to win over Sutton Coldfield.
A great game of rugby was played between two attacking teams. Sutton got off to a perfect start by moving the ball fast in all directions to create three unanswered tries in the first 12 minutes. Burntwood's defence was shell shocked and took 25 minutes before continuity and ball retention saw 10 phases before Wood's winger Paulius went over in the corner.
Sutton powered back and just before half time scored again to end the first half with the visitors ahead 22-5.
Burntwood started the second half with power and pace which rocked Sutton to the core. Alistair Carless scored a cracking snipers try from the base of a ruck, followed by Craig Prosser grounding a great rolling maul move by the pack. Rookyard converted.
Five minutes later a great run by Man of the Match Lewis Aston saw the supporting players pick and go until Ryan Percox went over the line. The last 15 minutes saw both sides trying to get the winning score. Finally Sutton gave a penalty 40 metres out, in front of the posts. Rookyard converted.
A great game for both players and supporters and also a great day for 6 Burntwood players playing in their first Colts game.
