Burscough Richmond FC are saddened to learn of the death of club founder Maurice Wilce at the age of just 60.
Maurice who was taken suddenly on Monday morning had not been ill and his death has come as a shock to all at the club.
Although Burscough Richmond’s origins can be traced back to 1975, the clubs current format came about from Maurice in 1985 when he took control of Richmond and entered them into the Preston Sunday League. Maurice spent several years with the club before handing over to the current committee in 1990.
The club would like to pass the sincere condolences to Maurice’s family and friends. At last nights game vs Fulwood Amateurs a minutes silence was held prior to the game in memory of Maurice. RIP Maurice.
