Thanks to all who turned out this weekend for the RugbyForce Weekend.

Those who didn’t will certainly notice a difference when next down at the club.

Brian Scott and his merry men have removed all of the trees from the Lichfield street end as they were pushing against the advertising hoardings making them unsafe. There are further plans to cut the hoardings to a lower level over the summer.

Our main project to renovate the men’s toilets got off to a great start with the whole lot gutted over the weekend by a small team of volunteers, including local MP, Mr Andrew Griffiths. Our President Mr Wrathall, fresh back from a coast to coast walk ceremoniously removed the final tile.

Particular thanks the U16s who came down and got stuck in led by John & Nikki Collett. They split into two groups, one decorating the Vic Roebuck changing rooms and the other helping the tree removal crew, an example to us all.

Also, members of the senior squad who mucked in after their session with the coaching team that included a presentation from Mark Wood, a truly remarkable man, who has walked solo to both south and north poles plus climbed Everest!

Thanks to Phil, ably assisted by Sous chef Sam Willets for the all days breakfasts served to the workers each day and Emma for manning the bar for refreshments.

If you didn’t participate this weekend, there are further opportunities available to get involved in helping YOUR club out on Sunday 26th July & Sunday 16th August.

Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Regards,
Ady Bullock
Ground Chairman
