Slow Start but the Colts managed to grind out a win
Bury started slowly with Marple scoring from the kickoff and then scoring again on fifteen minutes. Credit to the lads though and they picked themselves up with Joe Danson, Jacob Nutal and Thomas Gomez all getting a try each with Harry Jackson adding the extras from the tee twice. However just before halftime Marple snuck over to make the score 19-19 at the break.
HT Score Marple 19 - 19 Bury
As the second half got underway Bury started slow once again with Marple scoring almost straight from kickoff. However, the players regrouped under the sticks and what followed surprised everyone involved with this group of players. For the next thirty minutes Bury strung together some fantastic attacking rugby, scoring three further tries with Joe Danson running the Marple defence ragged setting up one try and bagging a second for himself and Jacob Nutal scoring a further two to get his hat-trick for the day. Further acknowledgement to Harry Jackson as well knocked over another conversion to make it 3/6 and his incredible solo run on the outside stepping a few and selling a massive dummy to set up Jacob Nutal for one of his tries. The final say of the day went to Marple who for the last ten minutes camped on the Bury 5 metre line and in the last play of the game went over to take the score to 33-38
