Some sloppy ball play allowing chorley the ball to score some simple tries as the Broncos found it hard going. Defending back to back sets 3 times was always going to be tough and tries from Tom Hunter, Adam Lister, Sam Carleton & Oliver Kirkman saw them go in 5 nil down at half time.
The second half started better, with silly mistakes and badly timed offloads replaced by good hard yards up the pitch being made. However, they were unable to convert their efforts to points and Chorley took advantage once the pressure subsided to score four more tries.
Bury did manage a consolation try at the end though thanks to Anthony Jenkinson
Despite a bad day at the office, Jackie Dempsey of the Chorley Panthers had encouraging words for the team. "Bury Broncos' youngsters were a credit to their club and never gave up. They kept the ball moving and came up with a score. This young team will have better days and will grow into something special."
The young side showed their inexperiance but there was nothing that can't be worked on at training... Keep your heads up lads, we know where we went wrong and we'll put it right at training!
