With all the rain the pitches resembled a swamp and it was game dictated by the conditions, with both teams struggling to play any free flowing rugby.
The young Broncos put in a tremendous performance to adapt to the boggy pitch, with some good strong running and slick ball play. Anthony Jenkinson went over for two tries, but despite a valiant effort they went in 6-2 down at half time.
In the second half there was a similar pattern of play but Waterhead used their two substitutes to good effect. When Bury players were tiring late in the game they ran in 5 more tries to end the games as victors by 11 tries to 2.
It was a really good effort in the conditions from all the home players who still have plenty of potential for improvement at training over the rest of the season. Harry O'Hagan defended tenaciously to pick up the top tackler award, with Elliot Latham named man of match and Charlie Roche the player of the week. As ever though, it was a real team effort and we couldn't have done it without the rest of the lads. All deserve a pat on the back!
