A brief summary of this months AGM - as well as a list of committee members

Bury Broncos annual general meeting took place earlier this month. The meeting was opened by a speech from former chairman Michael Palin, who formally stepped down from his role at the meeting.

Michael highlighted the clubs success on the pitch in the last 12 months, particularly the first teams victory in the Riley Cup and how the clubs continued growth has made us the fastest growing club in the North West. He also took the opportunity to thank everyone who has helped out both on and off the pitch since the club got started.

Following the speech the members present voted on the clubs new Chairman and committee members. Whose roles are as follows:

Chairman: Ryan Lewis
Secretary: Louise Quinn
Junior Secretary: Jean Palin
Treasurer: Michael Palin
Welfare Officer: Lesley Kynaston
Fundraising/ Events Officer: Richard West

It has also been decided that there will be a representative from each age group on the committee to ensure each team has a voice. These will be represented by:

Under 7’s: Vicky Lewis
Under 9’s: Sarah Brady
Under 11’s: Shaun Jenkinson
Open Age: Dave Latham

Further enquiries have been made with regards to Under 14’s, 16’s and 18’s and people will be appointed to these roles as soon as possible.

It was also decided that the club would once again apply for Clubmark status and would adhere to the RFL’s code of conduct. Also under discussion were a club raffle and lottery which the committee will be making enquiries into and investigating before making a decision on shortly.

The club is also planning a winter tour for their open age side which Charlie Delaume will be enquiring about. Finally the club is also planning to renovate the Pavillion and changing facilities at Phillips High. Georgina Singleton will project manage the work required.

The meeting closed as Michael Palin was thanked for his efforts as Chairman for the last few years.
