Broncos coach wins prestigious national Community Rugby League Coach of the Year award!

Bury Broncos second team coach Dave Kelly has been honoured by the RFL in being named the community game’s Coach of the Year 2016. It is thoroughly deserved and a great achievement for Dave.

Long a stalwart of the game, Dave has been influential in recent times with the development of Bury Broncos' Open Age groups. It is testimony to all the hard work going on at the club that the 3 open age sides have been turning out this season, with the first team rising to compete in the Division 2 playoffs of the North West Men's competition.

RFL Chief Executive Nigel Wood said; “The nominees for these awards represent the very best of Rugby League. Each of our nominees delivers outstanding service to our game and has played a direct role in ensuring that thousands of players are able to start and succeed in Rugby League.

“Coaches, teachers, Play Touch co-ordinators, volunteers and of course the clubs – this is the heart of Rugby League. Congratulations to all our worthy nominees and we thank everyone in these roles for everything they do to grow and support the sport.”

The event was introduced with a rousing speech by the RFL Chairman Brian Barwick acknowledging the enormous role that Community Clubs and volunteers play in the lives of everyone in Rugby League, from the youngest child to the talent of our Super League Heroes

From all at Bury Broncos, congratulations to Dave, and a big thank-you for all he does at the club.
