A mixed first and second team won their first friendly on Saturday, overcoming Oldham St Annes ‘A’ 20 points to 16 whilst the club are also debuting a third adult team on 28th February (next Saturday) when they travel to face a side from the University of Manchester and with this team we're confident we can offer a great, fun experience of playing rugby league to players of all standards and experience levels.
The real business of competitive rugby begins in a couple of weeks though, with the 'A' team travelling to Culcheth Eagles in their cup competition on March 7th before the first team join them in league action the week after (14th March). A full set of the season's fixtures can be found below.
Alongside the start of the new season the club are also making a new push to improve our facilities at Philips High school for the benefit not just of all at our club but with the hope of developing it into a small building suitable for community sports clubs and similar organisations across the borough of Bury. More information on this project (and the opportunity to donate to what we hope you'll agree is a very worthy cause!) can be found at http://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/burybroncos/.
