Open Age Training & Playing Contributions
And sneak preview of new polo-shirt designs...
In previous seasons we’ve produced a sheet showing the c. £6,000 cost of running the club when just an open age side. With new juniors sides we’ve done a lot to manage our costs – including the move to Philips High which made a big difference, but we still need contributions from our players.
We were not able to fully work out the total costs for the year as our insurance premium had not yet been determined. We had already invested in new playing kit (c £1,600), some new equipment and also made the decision to bring in a regular team physio.
However – the insurance premium arrived Saturday so we can now follow-up on fee rates etc.
The ask is:
The player pages on the website allow us to include a sponsor against each player. Therefore – it would be good if players could find a sponsor to cover their own registration contribution. For the business, they will appear on the web-site – for you, someone else is paying your contribution and you’re getting the polo shirt! So it would be well worth doing…
So everyone is aware, we are currently approaching sides to run more A team games now that we are more sure that we've the numbers wanting to play.

New vest-top designs will be up for people to view later in the week and we will start taking orders very soon!

- That players continue to make a £1 contribution at training sessions. This is specifically to cover Kate’s travel costs and medical supplies. As you’ve all discovered – Kate is very good and we’re very glad she has joined us but she’s travelling quite a distance to be doing it from her own pocket.
- Match-day contributions will be £4 for all teams, reflective of the fact that match officials and catering costs are the same across both teams.
- The Registration contribution with the club (which is what covers insurance) is likely to be c. £30 including a club polo-shirt. We are currently speaking with a sponsor for the polo-shirts and if successful, this might bring down this cost. The contribution will need paying by June 9th should you wish to continue playing for the club.
