Bury Town entered an Under 11 team into the Suffolk Girls and Womens League for the 2012/13 season, with many clubs/parents impressed with the clubs ethos and playing philosophy. Over the 2012/13 season Bury Town were trying to increase numbers of Girls in the younger age groups. Bury Town entered 2 teams into the Suffolk Girls and Womens League for the 2013/14 season. The club will be running weekly sessions for Girls in the U8-U14 category over the season with the plan to enter 5 teams into the League for the 2014/15 season at U10, U11, U12, U13 and U15 Level.

Bury Town's Girls set up is now amongst the fastest growing set ups in the county, our vision is to give as many boys, girls of any age, gender, creed, race or ability the chance to play football in an enjoyable, organised and safe environment.

U16 Girls Football
Bury Town have been building strong links with the near by High Schools and West Suffolk College to boost participation of girls in this age group. With the support of Frames Conservatories Direct the club have organised an U16 School Futsal Competition to enable players to enjoy different formats of the game. Bury Town aim to support their strong Ladies set up with the formation of an U17 team for the 2014/15 season.

Our Pathway
Girls in our set up are given a very good level of coaching from a young age. Girls are all given equal playing time regardless of ability. Teams are coached to play in accordance with the FA Future Game model. Girls can go all the way through our age groups to then have the chance to play for our Ladies set up. Bury Town are in full support of Suffolk FA's Girls PDC, which provides a weekly session to Girls selected after a trial process, the Girls can remain playing for the Club while they attend the weekly PDC set up.
