Backs Strategy
Private document: Player, Coach, Team Admin, Webmaster
This is a short article which explains further our backs strategy for the season, this document, read in conjunction with the continuity drills that we have been doing in pre season training will further knit together our overall strategy for the season i.e. “ Attack the Space” and “ Stay on your Feet ” . The enclosed alignment allows for our backrow to key quicker further up the pitch and allow for quickly recycled ball to then go wide again quickly thus stretching defences.
Phase Play by Zone : The Five C's
Private document: Player, Coach, Team Admin, Webmaster
Phase play denotes what we are attempting to do where on the pitch to build phases. This concept has been highlighted by way of 5 coloured zones, each with a ' STRAPLINE ' header and then sub headings to show the nature of move or concept that we should be trying to achieve in that area of the pitch. The moves and zones represent a risk assessment type approach to our play moving up the pitch.
Zone Play
Private document: Player, Coach, Team Admin, Webmaster
Detailed are this seasons calls by zone. Each zone represents the area that the attack will take place in. The zones move with the play. i.e. a midfield scrum with a narrow back row move coming off it would be called an A ball R or L to signify the direction of play, the same move but near to the touchline would still be the same call, as the move is still tight to the scrum and as such an A ball would signify a narrow channel of attack.
