CADBURY HEATH 2 – 0 CHARD TOWN

Heath cut the gap at the top of the table to just one point with this excellent win over a good Chard side.
Right from the off it was the Heath who were putting the pressure on and Chard being reduced to breakaways, with Nick Dyer and Mark Cherry pulling the strings from midfield the Heath were always looking dangerous and on 25 minutes a great cross was bravely headed home by leading scorer Mark Reynolds, soon after Nick Dyer thumped an effort from 20 yards against the post and was unlucky not to see it go in, then up stepped Mark Cherry who blasted a free kick inches wide of the goal.
The remainder of the first half was mainly played in the Chard half except for one breakaway that saw a good cross come in and somehow an unmarked Chard forward headed over.
The second half once again saw Heath dominated but the elusive second goal was not forthcoming as chance after chance went begging with Matt Huxley probably thinking he could have easily walked away with a second half hat trick.
The second and killer goal finally came on 63 minutes when again great work by Mark Cherry and George Boon created the opening for Mark Reynolds to head home from close range.
Heath saw out the remainder of the game fairly comfortably for a well deserved victory.
This was a very good all round performance from the Heath team.
