SATURDAY 25TH FEBRUARY

CADBURY HEATH 2 – 1 WELTON ROVERS

Without doubt not one of the best Heath performances of the season but all the same a very important win in our quest for premier division football.
Heath started the game well and were the more positive side in the opening exchanges and it was no surprise when they took the lead on 12 minutes when good work from Nick Dyer produced the cross for Luke Corrish to finish well at the back post.
Heath continued to push forward creating good openings for Matt Huxley who twice went close and Luke Corrish whose far post volley went agonisingly close to increasing Heaths lead.
Just as half time was approaching Welton equalised after good work from the winger who beat a home defender before crossing for an oncoming forward to head home giving Simon Crawford no chance and there ending his 400 plus minutes without conceding a goal.
The second half was practically all one-way traffic as Heath built up a momentum in the search for the decisive goal.
The Welton keeper was called into action on several occasions to keep his side on level terms.
Again chances were coming and going but the relentless pressure finally paid off in the 82nd minute when Nick Dyer received the ball on the corner of the penalty area turned a defender and placed a great finish into the bottom corner of the net to give Heath another huge three points in a game they were worthy winners.
Man of the match Nick Dyer.
