Cadishead made Hindpool Tigers work hard for their narrow 10-6 win on Saturday

The Rhinos started in determined mood with hooker Daryl Devlin directing the pack well.

Karl Leighton and Ashley Hayes were both proving a handful but it wasn't until the 20th minute that the Rhinos final broke the deadlock when Jon Gaskell collected Jason Reed's kick to score under the posts. Lee Massey added the conversion to give Cadishead a 6-0 lead.

Hindpool responded well putting the Rhinos defenece under pressure and their hard work paid off 8 minutes later with a converted try levelling the scores.

Minutes later both sides were down to 12 men with Richie Hayes sent to the sin bin for fighting. It was the Tigers that had the upperhand and it was only some last ditch tackles from Lewis Rimmer, Josh Cook and Danny Royle that kept the visitors out.

Cadishead managed to hang on until half time and with the scores at 6 all both sides knew they had a chance of winning.

It was the Tigers who looked more likely to score after the break and it came as no surprise when they scored on 55 minutes taking advantage of some sloppy tackling to give them a 10-6 lead.

Hindpool stepped up a gear and again had the Rhinos on their back foot but this time they stood firm.

As the second half progressed Cadishead had more of the possession and territory. Jason Reed and Jon Gaskell continued to probe at half back and centre Anthony Downs came close to scoring from an interception however it was not to be and Hindpool hung on to their narrow lead.

The Rhinos will be dissapointed not to have won the game but can take heart in the spirit shown throughout the side.
