The Rhinos started well with the forwards making good early yards and dominating possession and territory.

Their hard work was rewarded after 9 minutes when centre Jamie Cain collected a pass from Mark Woodfine to race over in the corner for a try, Jon Butler missed the conversion and the Rhinos led 4-0.

Cadishead continued to control the game, working well and forcing back to back sets however some solid defence from the Stags kept them out.

On 20 minutes a neat kick from the Garswood half back caught the Rhinos defence napping and he collected his own kick to score a good try, the conversion was added and the score was 6-4 to the visitors.

The Rhinos were still looking the most likely to score though and some great driving from man of the match Grant Dodd put them deep in the Garwsood half where George McNulty-Shaw collected a ball and burst through the line to score, Jon Butler was wide again with the conversion but the Rhinos led 8-6.

Cadishead continued to look confident and could of extended the lead when Luke Rimmer had a try disallowed for putting a foot in touch however just before the break they were awarded a penalty 30 meters out and elected to run the ball which proved a good decision when second rower Connor McKinney crashed over the line to score for an unconverted try taking the half time score to 12-6.

The break did little to stop the Rhinos momentum and within 5 minutes Jon Butler won the race from a Richie Hayes kick to touch down and score, he then added the conversion to increase the Cadishead lead to 18-6.

Garswood then sent out a gentle reminder that the game was not over when they exposed some lazy Cadishead defending to score out wide. The kick was added and it was 18-12.

From the kick off the Rhinos put Garswood under pressure with Ryan White and Kieran Hope putting in some big hits and as the visitors coughed up possession Richie Hayes extended the Rhinos lead when he knocked over a drop goal.

The Rhinos turned the screw tighter on 60 minutes when some good work saw Connor McKinney grab his second try of the afternoon and Jon Butler added the extras giving Cadishead a well deserved 25-12 lead.

With some daylight between the two teams it appeared that the Rhinos took their foot of the pedal and Garswood showed why they were unbeaten up until now in the league with two back to back tries in two minutes exposing some weak defence down the left flank and reducing the Rhinos lead to 25-24.

It was the Stags now who looked full of confidence as the Rhinos defence started to look shaky however they showed good composure to weather Garswood's purple patch and once again hooker Kieran Hope led them down the field before a last tackle scoot from Richie Hayes saw him power his way over. Jon Butler then had a difficult kick to seal the win but it sailed agonisingly wide leaving the Rhinos 5 points ahead with 5 minutes left on the clock.

Captain Matty Lee rallied the troops with some good talking and the Rhinos slowed the game down for the final few minutes to see out the win!
