A tough first league fixture for the Rhinos will see Westhoughton Lions visit Cadishead Recreation Ground.

Westhoughton finished as victors in each league meeting in the 2016 season and it was a devastating loss at home to a strong Lions outfit in this fixture, but, that was last season. With the Rhinos coming off the back of a great performance in the cup they'll want to double up against strong opponents in the 1st league game of the season. An injection of youth and exuberance from a young Rhinos side added to the experience of a few of the older statesmen has put the Rhinos in a good position and they'll be looking to take the game to Westhoughton and ensure they come away with 2 points to start the 2017 league season with a bang.
