A nervous start saw the Rhinos cough up possession in their own half and Thatto capitalised with some great play to take a 4-0 lead after 5 minutes.

They started to settle though with Matty Sloan, Josh Williams, Shea Skillicorn and Tom Connor all starting to cause the visitors trouble however nothing was coming off for the Rhinos and Thatto still looked in control. Their dominance was rewarded again on 23 minutes with a converted try extending their lead to 10-0.

Cadishead were hanging in there and hearts sank on 30 minutes with another Thatto try taking the score to 16-0.

The Rhinos rolled their sleeves up and put pressure on before the break and were unlucky not to cross the whitewash.

The second half started with the Rhinos in determined mood and for the first time in the game Thatto began to look stretched.

Jack Sloan came off the bench and added some go forward but despite all the Cadishead pressure the Thatto defence stood firm until the 64th minute when Brad White finally broke through and stretched out to score, Josh Grundy adding the conversion.

The confidence started to spread through the team and it wasn't long before Ben Connor collected a pass to crash over and Josh Grundy added the conversion taking the score to 16-12 and setting up a tense finish with 7 minutes left to play.

The Rhinos threw everything at Thatto and it looked like they have clinched the win with minutes to go when Ben Connor once again burst through to cross the try line before the referee agonisingly disallowed the try for a knock on.

The final minutes saw Thatto slow the game down and hang on for the win.
