BLUEBIRDS SEE OUT THE YEAR WITH WELCOME WIN

The Bluebirds finally came good with a win in the last game of the year to defeat the holders of the Central Wales Cup.
They were made to fight very hard for their victory having to come back from a 2-0 deficit at half time.
Aberaeron drew first blood after 12 minutes when former Bluebird Mattie Davies outjumped a static defence to head past Dave Jones.Aberaeron increased their lead after 32 minutes when Liam Jacques steered the ball into the net.Things could have been a lot worse when Chris Wilkins rattled the Bluebirds post.
Manager Graham Evans made two changes at half time with Lance Jones and Aaron Hughes-Jones entering the fray as the Bluebirds began to turn the screw but missing chances until Steve Blenkinsop scored a brilliant goal from the edge of the area and Luke Sherbon latching onto a through ball to round goalkeeper Fairbrother and slot in an equaliser. It was all one way traffic at this stage and the impressive Blenkinsop was bundled over in the penalty area only for Rhydian Davies penalty to be saved by Fairbrother.Owing to encroachment the penalty had to be retaken only for the same player to blaze over the bar. This gave the visitors a lift and they were awarded a spot kick when Gavin Samuel was adjudged to have tripped Mattie Davies who made no mistake to level the scores once again.
The Aberaeron resistance was finally broken in injury time when a through ball from substitute Liam Rimmer found Blenkinsop who crossed for Rhydian Davies to redeem himself and put the Bluebirds in the next round
