4. Club Development Officer

The club is in its second season with a full-time development officer.

Recently appointed to the post was Colin Sangster who has already made great strides in re-invigorating our youth sections.

He has succeeded in recruiting a number of ex-players to assist with the organisation and coaching of the youngsters.

We continue to be indebted to the support we have received towards the cost of this post, from the Highland Leader programme, Scottish Rugby and Highland Council.

Apart from initiatives to encourage newcomers and fill the gaps in the age groups, Colin has carried out a wholesale restructuring of the administration of our junior section.

The growth of the youth ranks is essential for the future health of the game in the county though it will need to be matched, not just by extra voluntary resource, but also funding.

Everyone involved with the club welcomes Colin to Caithness and wishes him all the best in his new post.
