With only 4 regular players picked, this was always going to be a tough encounter, but bodies were put on the line and everyone that stepped up from the 4th XI gave 100% and can give themselves a huge pat on the back.

Having won the toss, Camborne elected to bowl and immediately made the most of the new ball with both Tim Barker (1-29) and Allan Smith (2-29) removing an opening batsman each, leaving Leedstown reeling at 4-2.
Nothing seemed to go Camborne's way from thereon. The bowlers continued to put the ball in the right areas and were continually beating the outside edge for the first 20 overs, but no chances were offered.
As the ball got older, the pitch got easier and former Camborne player Matt Bennett(95) began to dominate proceedings with some big hitting. Neil Symons (2-75) took most of the punishment with the ball being retrieved from nearby Praze on 2 occasions.
However, the fielders stuck to the task and Matt Weston bowled extremely well at the death, Leedstown eventually finishing on 195-5.

This was always going to be a tall order. 50 runs for the 2nd wicket by Ben Walters (23) and Symons (96*) was the only meaningful partnership, but the runs kept ticking over as well as the wickets. 4th teamer Nicholas Gibson (11) occupied the crease for a while and helped keep Camborne in the game.

With 22 required off the last 2 overs, Camborne had a glimmer of hope, but could only pinch a single off the first ball. This left number 11 Simon Edwards exposed and unfortunately he snicked the next ball to the keeper who managed to catch it on his 3rd attempt!

A big thank you to all the 4th teamers who helped take this game to the wire! No more could be asked of you and you done yourselves proud.
