Over 100 guests enjoy a superb evening in the Clubhouse Function suite.

Report by Martin Symons.

More than 100 guests enjoyed a superb evening at Camborne RFC’s 4th Annual Charity Dinner on Friday evening.

With the ‘Town Bar’ decked out in Cherry & White and looking fantastic the diners enjoyed an excellent three course meal prepared and served by catering and hospitality students from Cornwall College.

After dinner MC Terry Williams and Club Chairman Andy Gill introduced the two guest speakers in the shape of former Cornwall and Royal Navy skipper Chris Alcock followed by giant Scotland and British Lions lock Andy Reed.

Both entertained the crowd with their stories of days playing in the Cherry & White jersey and beyond.

Next up accomplished auctioneer Paul Le Bas took to the stage to conduct an auction of coveted lots that raised a substantial sum.

Proceeds from the event will be split between the Club’s ‘Project 2018’ and Curnow School with the final totals to be announced in due course.

Grateful thanks to Carey Thomas, Colin Stevenson and all who contributed to the organisation and success of the event.
