The Cherry & Whites dominated for large periods of this match and deservedly came out on top to move into second place in South West 1 West.
The visitors rarely threatened the Camborne line during this hard fought encounter showing little of the form which had kept them near the top of the league for most of the season.
Camborne's pack were in charge and had the upper hand in most of the set pieces keeping the opposition on the back foot for the majority of the game. Avonmouth made the most of every oppertunity and rarely came away from the Camborne half without putting some points on the board, fortunately Town's pressure restricted their opponents attacks.
With the leaders Brixham losing their second match in succession Towns victory has really put them in the promotion mix.

Although not at our best dug in and won what was always going to be a tight game between the best two defenses in the league. It was great to see that our scrum was to win us the game, but also some great defense when needed from all the team. Well done to all.
Great scrummaging against a heavier pack.I would guess there has been some hard hours put in on the training pitch since the Penryn match. It was only desperate defence by 'The Mouth'during the 2nd half that restricted the winning margin to 1 point.
Monumental performance by the team and the coaching staff.
A nail biting match against very 'streetwise' opposition. Well done Town. You played the rugby and deserved the victory.
I don't think I've seen a side go down with so many injuries, constantly slowing the game to disrupt Camborne. There were 22 minutes added time (7 in the first half and an amazing 15 in the second) this tells its own story of a side which just came to spoil and do a damage limitation job and it worked.
This is not what I would expect from a team with promotion aspirations, you can see the confidence has left the 'Mouth' with 3 defeats in the last 4 matches. With Brixham also losing their last couple of games Town are definately in the mix big time, it now depends on how bad we want it, grab it with both hands boys you are the form team in the league.
a heavier pack???
A hard fought and deserved win. We seemed to make a slow start and that coupled with some key refereeing decisions which went against us is what I feel gave the visitors the edge in the first half. however, there was no mistaking who won the second half boys, our scrummaging, both with and without the put in, was awesome and was most definitely what put us in the position where we dominated the whole second half and the only thing that kept them in it was their kicker and the odd ball that they managed to get out to their centres!
Nail biting is right,Mr Medlyn- down to the quick this time.
Apologies to Alison who had to calm me down when things got even more fraught!
Very well done to all the Team.
They were rather huge boys Mr Foss !!!
Only if you admire them from a distance
Well played guys. From what I`ve seen on the site looks like the grunts up front were superb. Really missed not being there but was helped?? by some timely updates from Jeffs mobile. Would have helped if he`d given me the correct scores and not a heart attack every time.
Nice to read that Malcolm also has a thorough cardio vascular workout and all by text. Hope your heart rate is now back in rhythm.
Trouble was Hazel I was in the middle of my high street swearing at the phone. I ring Jeff every 10 minutes for an update as well. People like that shoudn`t be allowed to breed. Lol. Don`t know who I`m going to ring this week though.
Where's the whole report
interesting match report on the avonmouth site
spot on really
I do beleive the author of the Avonmouth report Crag Bryton has been drinking the real ale in JD Wetherspoons - Bitter and Twisted.
Having read your forum post it would seem that Craig is much more articulate than your self.
Shades of 1984!!
That's yourself mr foss, well done on the reading by the way, coming along nicely.
Craig, where are you? I think I've caught a big one here!! I need some help reeling it in!
