Town to entertain Camberley with a tough test at Launceston to follow.

Pre-season games are less than 8 weeks away and the 1st XV will face tough tests ahead of the start of their 2017/18 league campaign.

Camborne will begin their build up with the visit of ambitious London South East club Camberley RFC to the REC on August 12th (3pm k.o). This match will give the Cherry & Whites selectors a chance to look at their new signings for the first time.

The team will have a tough test when they travel to Polson Bridge to take on Launceston on Saturday 19th August, (3pm k.o). The hosts will be looking to push for promotion from South West 1 next season following back to back relegations from the National leagues.
The last time the teams met 'Town' suffered a defeat at the hands of the hard working north Cornwall outfit, so we will be looking for a much better performance this time round.
The two clubs have experienced contrasting fortunes over the past few seasons. In 2011 the Cherry & Whites sat 4 leagues below the All Blacks who were then in National 1 whilst we were competing in the Western Counties league. Since then 'Town' have been promoted twice whilest Launceston has sustained three relegations.

The Cherry & Whites will be facing another tricky encounter when they take on Western Counties outfit Truro away (date/time TBC). The City club who were in the promotion hunt for the majority of last season would like nothing better than turning over Camborne at their St Clements Hill ground.

These matches will give our new coaching team of Damien Cook and Rhodri Mcatee the opportunity to experiment and ring the changes as they look at various combinations within the squad.
It promises to be an extremely tough season ahead and the coaches will need to have a lot of strength in depth in their squad, so they'll be looking at these matches to see who's up to the challenge.

Reserve team fixtures will be released as soon as they're confirmed.
