November 18th 2000 was the last time Camborne made the trip up to Dings Crusaders. On that occassion a Cherry & Whites team which had lost several influential players to Mr Evans cheque book in the previous two seasons were soundly defeated 36 - 11.
The home side went on to win promotion from what was then South West 2 and just 18 months later gained National league status where they have remained since.

On Saturday we travel to Bristol in a much better state of mind and are confident we can take something from what we are sure will be an very testing encounter. The squad, although missing a number of key players is extremely well prepared and has a lot of strength in depth so confidence is high among the team.
Selectors have handed a National League debut to Tom Townsend (pictured) who will start on the wing with Murray Westren having work commitments. The front row see's a change with prop Malcolm Hearn also working Andrius Zacharovas comes off the bench to start and Leigh Hocking comes in on the bench.

James Goldsworthy is another player who comes off last weeks bench to make the starting XV David Roberts going the other way. Finally recent new signing Sam Furse makes his senior league debut, the young Cornwall u20's flanker has impressed in pre-season matches and coaches are confident he will cope with the step up to National league rugby.

Unfortunately with the number of players we have missing due to either injuries, work commitment or cricket the 2nd XV clash @ Dings has had to be called off.
