From Top to Bottom.
This Saturday we welcome Lydney RFC who make the 400 mile round trip from their 'Forest of Dean' home to the heart of Cornwall to take on the Cherry & Whites.
Whereas last weeks visitors Dings Crusaders had their minds set on lifting the league title at Camborne, Lydney will be focused on avoiding relegation when they run out on the REC this Saturday. For the club who sit 19 points from safety know that only a bonus point victory can keep their slim hopes of avoiding the drop alive!
Camborne know that even though they sit in mid-table they themselves are still not safe, in what is one of the closest relegation battles for many a season. There are still 6 teams, who could in theory end up in the 3rd relegation spot currently occupied by our Devon rivals Ivybridge (who we still have to meet).
Selectors will be hoping to see returns to the squad for Captain Jon Drew, back row forward Jordan Rose and wing/full back Ben Tyler-Guy, all of whom missed last weeks win over the Champions elect last week.
The team know that this match will be no easier than last Saturday as the team from Gloucestershire are always tough opponents who give 100% and never take a backward step. As we found in the meeting earlier this season when we suffered a 31 -20 reverse, so putting the record straight will certainly on the players minds.
Please note that due to the large numbers expected at the pre-match Sponsors Buffet, it will now be held in the 'Town' bar and so supporters are asked to use the Cherry & Whites Lounge prior to the game.
