Senior squad summer activity.

Camborne are counting the cost of having a good season as firstly they lost Alex Ducker to the Pirates and now Joel Matavesi to Ospreys.
To be fair Joel was always likely to be snapped up by a big club but unfortunately with Town already losing Scrum half Dean Pascoe (retired) Wing Aaron Hunt (moved out of county) and scrum half Jason Jackson (possibly Saints) the departure of two further backs is inconvenient.

Fortunately the club has been working extremely hard behind the scenes to bring some quality players into the squad. The signings of Scott Murray (wing) and Taron Peacock (scrum half) was just the start of the recruitment drive, with the club hoping to announce the arrival of further players in the next couple of weeks.

The vast majority of last seasons squad are expected to remain with Town despite being courted by several local clubs.

It's anticipated that the new signings will give the squad healthy competition for places, bringing out the best in players. With long term injury victims Malcolm Hearn, James Bryant, Shaun Buzza and James Goldsworthy all returning it will be like having even more new players at the REC.

With Camborne fielding just two senior sides next season coaches and selectors will focusing on a group of around 40 players, with the majority of these training each week.
Also the return of Redruth 2nd XV into the Senior Merit table will make it a strong and more competitive league, which will prepare our players well for South West 1.

If the club can avoid the extremely high number of injury's which blighted them last season, there's no doubt they will be among the favourites for promotion in 2015.
