Can extra-time form carry over?

Following last week's extra-time victory in the National Cup, Ambassadors now return to league action against high-fliers Meldreth.

The game should prove to be an interesting affair, after the meeting in the cup earlier in the season saw Ambassadors run out comfortable 4-1 winners.

Since that match, fortunes for both teams have varied.

Meldreth, who had won all of their games prior to the fixture, subsequently are yet to register another win. Playing twice, once in the cup and once in the league. They suffered a further defeat, at the hands of Linton in the cup, whilst they then returned to league action with a 3-3 draw against Great Paxton, the team currently one place below them in the table.

Of course, in the intervening time, Ambassadors have themselves not registered a win in the league, losing out narrowly to the current table toppers Gransden, whilst also running Hardwick close for a time in the cup. Hopefully last week's win in the cup will set up the side with confidence for the match.

Given all that has gone before, this game promises to be a close affair. A good team performance will be required if Ambassadors are to get the result they know they're capable of.
