1sts score 4 2nd half goals to win; Reserves have 2 season-ending injuries

It was a really mixed day for CUP FC on Saturday, as a surge in the final quarter for the 1st team saw them hit 4 goals to win while the Reserves lost 2 - 0 and suffered two serious injuries.

The 1st team hosted Eaton Socon in the Kershaw Premier hoping to get the upper hand on their fellow mid-table opponents. A goal fest ensued as half time scoreline of 3 - 3 ended 7 - 3 to CUP, and included further drama with an injury to goalkeeper Luca and a penalty save by his replacement Will Cook.

Jose bagged four of the goals, with Dan grabbing a brace and Zak scoring on his return to CUP after time with Hardwick and Godmanchester Rovers.

The Reserves battled hard in their match at promotion challengers Huntingdon United in Senior B. Two 2nd half goals by the hosts, one from a dubious penalty, helped them pick up the win and CUP defeated.

The main points of note from the match though were the two season-ending injuries for CUP. Jun fell awkwardly midway through the 1st half and ended up a dislocated shoulder. GK Louis Cook suffered a serious injury, later confirmed as a fractured knee, with 7 minutes to go as a result of a tackle by a Huntingdon player - there was no intent, but it was unnecessarily late.

Our best wishes go to these fantastic lads!
