1st team promoted to Kershaw Premier!

1 year ago By CUPFC Info

A 4 - 1 win their final game of the season earns CUP FC 1st team promotion from Senior A and a return to the Kershaw Premier

Two goals a piece from Bradley and Jose put the 1st team on course to a 4 - 1 victory at home to Royston Town A, securing promotion to the Kershaw Premier.

This is a truly fantastic achievement after a solid season by the 1st team who have been in the top four all year, overtaking Milton at the top in March and not looking back. The Senior A league title is still a possibility but requires Comberton to drop points in either of their final two games.

There are so many individual mentions that could be made, the most notable ones though are the 81 goals scored between Bradley (26) and Jose (55) contributing greatly to the 107 goals - 94 league and 13 cup - by the team this season. Jose currently leads the scoring charts for Senior A and in fact the Cambridgeshire leagues. The 1sts boost the second meanest defence in conceding only 41 league goals in 28 matches.

It has been very humbling for the club to receive so many messages of congratulations from former volunteers and players - thank you.

Well done to all involved with the team and club in general on a great year!
