1st win 5 - 0 in the cup, Reserves draw at Whittlesford in the league

It was a positive Saturday for CUPFC as both teams picked up decent results, the 1st team winning 5 - 0 at home to Chatteris Town in the league cup and Reserves drew 1 - 1 on the road at Whittlesford United - extending their unbeaten runs to 6 and 4 games respectively.

Braces from Dan and Jose, and a James Hall goal, ensured a solid win in Round 2 of the Kershaw Premier KO Cup for the 1sts. They took a 1 - 0 lead into half time before stepping up a gear in the second half to ensure a comfortable victory. This was the second win at home over Chatteris Town this season, defeating them 2 - 0 in the league in August.

The Reserves secured a 1 - 1 draw at Whittlesford United in Senior B, having the better chances even in the last 35 or so minutes when playing with 10 men. Ollie scored his 8th of the season early in the second half to give CUP a 1 - 0 lead, before a very dodgy referee decision awarded the hosts a penalty, which they converted, two minutes later for 'handball' and saw Lee given a straight red.

Training continues tomorrow night at the Cass Centre, the usual 7pm start, ahead of this weekend when each team have tough opponents. The 1sts travel to Great Shelford in the Cliff Bullen Challenge Cup - hoping to avenge the league defeat from August - while the Reserves play their second home game of the season hosting unbeaten Red Lodge.
