It was a mixed results for CUPFC in the final week as a successful pre-season came to a close.
On Wednesday evening the 1st team hosted Chatteris Town in their final pre-season match. It was another excellent display, with goals from Benton and Gwynne securing a 2 - 1 win, setting CUP well for the season ahead.
The previous night a depleted Reserves side (10 players and no recognised goalkeeper) faced the CUP Staff team, and in a tight affair, went down 2 - 1 with Bruges scoring his first for the club. On Saturday the Reserves then faced local rivals Cherry Hinton Reserves in the pre-season finale. The opponents came out on top with a 5 - 2 victory, with 3 goals coming from offsides not given. McKoy grabbed a brace for CUP.
The Cambridgeshire League season begins this week - the 1sts are on the road in their Kershaw Premier opener against new side Eynesbury Rovers Reserves, 7.45 kick off on Tuesday, before the Reserves host newly-promoted St Ives Rangers on Wednesday, a 6.15 kick off in this Senior B clash.
