It was a disappointing result for the 1st team on Saturday who lost out 3 - 1 on the road at Brampton in the Kershaw Premier. CUP missed too many chances to get ahead and got punished as the hosts were clinical. Erskine came off the bench to score in the final 5 minutes.
The Reserves served up a thriller at the Cass, drawing 7 - 7 against Newmarket Town Reserves. The match ebbed and flowed as both teams went ahead, CUP fighting back from a 6 - 4 deficit at half time to lead 7 - 6 with 5 minutes to play before the visitors struck late to equalise. Townshend grabbed a hat-trick, K.Lewin a brace, and one each for Bruges and Pledger (penalty).
It's cup action this coming weekend for both sides with the 1sts hosting current Kershaw Premier leaders Fulbourn Insitute in the league's KO Cup and the Reserves playing Newmarket once again but this time away in the Percy Oldham - both have a 3pm kick off.
Training continues tonight, a 6.30pm start.
