We headed down to the south coast, but this time with just 2 teams and what was a glorious sunny day.
The Knights started against Leighton Buzzard, which seemed a long way to travel for a local fixture, but it is always nice to play good teams like Leighton. We blasted out of the blocks with some great defensive high pressure lines, and we came away with a good solid start. The next game against Aylesford was tough, but again we were able to force some mistakes which made the difference. The final 2 games were more comfortable against New Milton and Hove, but overall it was a really impressive performance from the team.
For the Wizards we started with Bournemouth 3 and again we came out of the blocks quickly with a number of 7 tag turnovers and try’s. The next game against Bournemouth 1 was a different story with 2 evenly matched sides and some great running on to the ball by both teams. Going forward both teams were hard to stop, and we just managed to scrape home by 1 try. There was a long break between matches and by the third match against Hove, everyone was feeling the effects from the sun and we struggled in the first half. Luckily the second half was a different story and again we just managed to edge it. The final game was again against Leighton Buzzard, and it was a great way to finish with 2 good teams playing some lovely stuff. In the end we managed to win by a couple, but it was another fantastic team performance across the day.
