Tranmere Rovers visit Kirklands for what promises to be a good quality ‘summer’ fixture, one which has provided some close results over the last few years and a good evening out for the supporters of both clubs. Entrance prices for the game have been set at £5 adults and just £2 for Concessions (U16 & OAP) and the club are as ever hoping that this fixture will prove a big attraction in the local footballing calendar.

A Club official stated “We are looking forward to our pre-season campaign and the Tranmere fixture is a real stand-out for us. It is always a pleasure to host our friends from Tranmere Rovers and we hope the fixture appeals to both sets of fans, the local community and beyond. You can’t always bank on the weather but hopefully it will be a decent night, we will have the hospitality arrangements in place and it’s an occasion where people can enjoy a decent game of football in local surroundings between two clubs looking for success in their respective leagues next season.”

Speaking this week, Lairds Manager, Tony Sullivan commented “Our pre-season line-up provides a test for us on many levels and it probably won’t get more testing than the visit of Rovers. Both clubs will I’m sure be fielding strong sides and the games are always great spectacles for the supporters. We’re all looking forward to the fixture and although it’s part of a wider programme you can’t help but cast your eye on this one. I would encourage the whole of the Community to give the evening a go, there’s always a good atmosphere at Kirklands for these games and the standard of football is high.”
