Bowen penalty earns vital win for Lairds
A disputed penalty from Aaron Bowen after 70mins secured three vial points for the Kirklands outfit. A hard fought first half with few chances came to light in the final few minutes of the first half when Lairds midfielder Marc Stephens was sent off by referee Street, and within a couple of mins Radcliffe were awarded a penalty when Dysart fouled Chadwick, but his effort hit the bar and from the rebound Sherlock's effort was well saved by Lairds keeper Molloy.
The visitors were on top for most of the second half but lairds stood tall with Dysart and Ferrigan in particular outstanding and adamson leading the line alongside Millington as pressure built. But thanks to a well organised and strong performance from the blues Molloy was not too busy. Borough best efforts came from dead ball situations and with time running out Borough had a late chance from the edge of the penalty area but Molloy saved well. Great three points for Lairds but they need to keep on winning for now though they are off the bottom of the league for theorist time in a long while.
