Lairds lose heavily at Ossett
A poor quality match which was turned on its head in sixty seconds. Both sides struggled on a bumpy pitchwith lairds creating the first chance on two minutes when a Bowen flick saw a Helio effort blocked for a corner. On 26mins a mix up between Molloy and Riley led to the first chance for the home team but Thompson fired into the side netting.on 35mins the game turned against the visitors, after good work down the left by Riley, McNamara effort hit the post and Bowen struck the rebound wide. From the goal kick the home team built up play and crossed from the right saw a very harsh penalty awarded by the Assistnt, and from the penalty Fox fired home.
Lairds needed to keep things tight in the opening minutes of the second half but two soft goals were conceded on 47minCorner met the ball at the far post and on 51 mins Jordan scored after a mix up at the back. Dysart was sent off by referee Akers who had a very poor game. Booker came on a a sub and netted a hat-trick but by then the game as a contest Ewan's over, although referee Akers compounded his poor display by awarding a late penalty against Jones although the defender had clearly won the ball .
