Dear All

As a follow up to my recent message, we are now in a position to provide you with more information about our new online membership system and how to access it.

We are requesting at this time Senior Players to register only. Other categories will be required in the new year.

Having spoken to a number of people over the last few weeks, it’s clear that there is some confusion over what exactly membership of Camp Hill RFC is, which membership category you should be in and how much it costs.

What is Membership?

Membership of Camp Hill RFC, runs from 1st August to 31st July; this mirrors the rugby year. To become a member, a membership subscription is required to be paid each season; this can be paid as a one off payment or by monthly payments. Membership subscriptions support investment and development at the Rugby Club.

The membership subscription, should not be confused with match fees, the amount paid by players on a Saturday after the game; these are used to fund players food, kit laundry and referees. Also, by joining the Club website ( www.chrfc.co.uk ) does not make you a member either.

There are two main types of membership for the adult (senior) section of the Club; playing and non-playing:

Playing members – Male or female players aged 18 and over, playing contact or non-contact Rugby.

Non playing full members

Vice-Presidents (VPs)

Associate Members; parents of a Mini and Junior player having paid the annual Mini and Junior playing subscription.

What does Membership cost?

Category Annual Subscription Monthly Subscription

Senior Contact Players (over 21) £60.00 £5.00

Senior Contact Players (u21/student) £20.00 N/A

Touch Players* £30.00 £2.50

Vice Presidents (VPs) £1.20 plus a donation - Determined by donator (though normally a minimum of £5.00/month)

* If already part of another section, a further £10 is payable

What are the benefits of Membership?

Senior playing and non-playing members are entitled to

Be considered for selection to play rugby in one of the senior teams
Use the sporting facilities & physio provisions
Access the clubhouse and social facilities
Vote at the Club’s general meetings *
Apply for International tickets
Serve on the Club’s Management Committee

*NB New Non Playing Vice Presidents who have not previously been playing members are required to complete three full years’ membership before being entitled to vote at the Club’s general meetings.

What do we need you to do now?

The system will have a staged rolled out across the membership categories. In the first phase (between now and the new year) we are requesting all senior contact players to register. Non playing senior members will be requested separately in the new year. Below you will find a link, which will take you to a web page. There you need to fill in your personal details, to add you to the Club’s new Online database.

ALL contact playing members must complete this by December 31st 2018 to continue to be considered members.

2. Decide your membership status; consider if you are a:

a. Playing Contact member

b. Concessional member - Student, Unemployed

c. Sponsored player - i.e. someone has paid for your membership

d. Playing member already paying by standing order or having made a one off payment for the seasons subscription.

3. Select the correct category/drop down form

4. Complete each field and page, as required

5. Select/Agree the Privacy declaration and Membership rules

6. Consider Gift Aid declaration and select if eligible

7. Submit your membership details for approval

8. Complete the GoCardless direct debit form. This will ensure you membership fee is collected and is the only way to pay. (If you are a sponsored player, currently paying by standing order or a member who has already paid your annual fees already you will not be asked to do this).

This is mandatory for all members.

What will happen next?

Your details will be verified by the team to ensure they are all ok. Once your details are approved you will receive an email confirming this and your job is done.

We do not have access to your bank details, these are handled directly between you and GoCardless. You will receive notification from GoCardless confirming the direct debit details separately.

In 12 months you will be asked to confirm your personal details again but at any time you will be able to login to the system to update any of your personal details. It is your responsibility to ensure all of your details are up to date.
