1XV vs Wolverhampton (2.15 home)

Wolverhampton are a familiar opponent. Having been founded in 1875, they have been regular opponents since the start of the last century.

This century we have met each other in 6 seasons starting in 2002/2003. That season we won away and lost at home. Tony Deane,Ali Wildey and “Frank” White were try scorers in a 29-17 victory whilst we could only manage 4 Barney Edwards penalties in the 19-12 return defeat.

Two seasons later we won both games without conceding a point;27-0 at home and 20-0 away when our 3 tries came from Darren Forder, Steve Leach and Willie Huisamen. We also won both games in 2007-2008 in the season that we won the league and North Midlands Plate. There were tries for Briggsy and current 'DOR' Simon Tansley in the 13-8 away win.

In 2013/14 each Club won their home game but the two following seasons were dominated by Wolverhampton who won all 4 games. In the first away game of this season Camps came out on top by 38-12 with a hat trick of tries from Liam Lindsey and one each from Liam Taylor, Rob Freeman and Ryan Large; Briggsy converted four of them.

Games between the two Clubs have always been competitive and who will forget Tour 2002 when the final of the Competition in Ghent against Wolverhampton was decided by a Liam Morrissy drop goal?

To date it has been a difficult Season for 'Wolves'. With a current playing record of (P) 12, (W) 1 (D) 2 (L) 9, they sit bottom but one in Midlands 1 (West) with 15 points. Their single 'win' to date was a 21-18 home victory against Hereford, and 2 draws have against Lutterworth (27-27) and Rugby Lions (24-24)

There is a minor 'tweak' to the Pack from last game against Stoke, Sam Parkinson, who was on the Bench is joined by Gareth Lang to start in the Second Row, and Shawn Lindeque is called onto to the Bench.

With Matthew Clarke (injured), Jonny Betty and Simon Edwards start in the Centres, Mark Lisle returns to take a place on the Wing, and Ian Briggs moves from Centre to Full Back.

The Bench also see's the return of Jan Erik-Anderson, and Club 'utility' back, George Wilkinson.

Squad - Dan O' Grady, Adam Wills, Ryan Large, Sam Parkinson, Gareth Lang, Stephen Halbert, Harry Cunningham, Rob Hunt, Lloyd Roberts, Brandon Lea, Harry Garratt, Simon Edwards, Jonny Betty, Mark Lisle, Ian Briggs, Jan Erik-Anderson, Shawn Lindeque, George Wilkinson

GENERAL OFF-FIELD STUFF

General up-keep of The Club.

Could we ask ALL SECTIONS AGAIN to make more of an effort with regards to keeping the Club tidy for everyone that uses it - this includes both inside and outside of the Clubhouse!!!!

Before you leave the Club, please would EVERYONE ensure -

1) That all kit equipment & kit is tidy in the respective Containers.

2) Glasses/bottles are brought back to the Bar, plates and cutlery are taken back to the kitchen and not left outside on tables around the Club.

3) That your rubbish in put in the Bins - there's plenty of Bins both inside and outside the Club!

As you will be aware, YOUR Club runs purely on Volunteers, and it's not the volunteers job to tidy up after you - it's pretty simple, when you go home, please leave YOUR Club in the state you would expect to find it when you arrive.
