A weekly round up brought to you by our partner Catch-It.

Saturday 26th August
The first team played their first of two games over the holiday period, and continued their promising start to the season by beating Croydon 3-1 at the Croydon Arena. Dave Pilhcer opened the scoring after combining well with Ian Pulman, and later added a second from the penalty spot. Croydon caused a few nervous moments when pulling a goal back, but Josh McCallum's header wrapped up the victory.

Also, slightly earlier, CC Sports who are an amalgamation of Canterbury Christ Church University and Canterbury City, played in their first Kent County League fixture and picked up a creditable point. Matthew Biggs was the CC Sport scorer on the day, and Aidan Ainsley thought to be the man of the match. With many players still to return to University after the summer it was a good start.

Monday 28th August
A home league match against Deal Town, went the same way as usual against the team we are ground-sharing with - and sadly this is a defeat. Deal Town got of to a flying start when Connor Coyne, turned and lobbed in a 35-40 yard shot, which Jack Delo could not reach. The closest City came was a crisp strike from Gary Clarke which was tipped superbly onto the post. After lots of hard work City pulled themselves back into the game when Sam Conlon was adjudged to have been fouled. Dave Pilcher was called upon to again take a penalty, and duly equalised.
City's hopes of turning their possession advantage took a knock when Sam Wilson restored Deal's advantage, and then City hit the woodwork for a second time, this time through Joe Kennett's header. The game was over when Wilson scored his second and so Deal Town ended 3-1 winners.

Friday 1st September
City have completed a new signing this evening, and all being well the player could go straight into the squad for tomorrow's match at Rusthall.
