History - 2007

Cardiff Double Blues ARFC has a privileged history of being one of the founder clubs of the Welsh Australian Rules Football League (WARFL) in 2007.

From a humble background, Cardiff Double Blues ARFC has grown from a collection of individuals who share a love for Australian Rules Football into a true club. Throughout its history the club has strove for excellence and to further the growth of Australian Rules Football in Wales and beyond.

International Caps

Even though it was early days for the club, a precedent was set when four of the club's players were selected to represent Wales in the first-ever Dragon Cup International Test between the Cymru Red Dragons and England Dragonslayers.

These players were;
  • Jack Wells (who was also nominated Captain of the team)
  • Michael Davidson
  • Tom Judson
  • Kevin Walker-Curran
A proud tradition was started with the first-ever 4 International Caps for the club.
