Carlton Town host their second Olympic-year beer festival next weekend (Friday 8 - Saturday 9 July).

The inaugural festival was held in 2012 and Millers chairman Mick Garton has promised a bigger and better festival this time around.

Along with a selection of beers and ciders from breweries such as Castle Rock, Flipside, Navigation, Pentrich, Totally Brewed and the always-excellent Black Iris, there is the promise of some fine food with a sausage festival being held at the same time.

Live music is being provided on both evenings with the Sarah Knight band playing on Friday (9pm) and Urban Riff on Saturday (8.30pm).

And in what could be the best combination of the season, Saturday afternoon sees the opening pre-season friendly when League 2 side Mansfield Town return to the Bill (4pm).

What's more, entry to the beer festival is free on Friday and on Saturday apart from 2.30pm - 5.00pm when football admission prices apply. So if you're coming to the game on Saturday, get there before 2.30 and it's free - and there will be real ale / cider and sausages! What more could you want over a summer weekend?
