Riece Bertram struck in the second minute of added time as Carlton Town drew 1-1 with Ossett Utd this afternoon.

Bertram fired home after Ossett failed to clear a Kieran Walker throw as the Millers avoided defeat for only the second time at home this season.

Ossett had gone in front in the fourth minute when Joseph Wilkinson fired home after some hesitant Carlton defending.

The visitors largely controlled the first half and Tom Greaves saw an angled drive turned onto the bar by Jack Steggles.

Ossett had the ball in the net early in the second half only to be denied by an offside flag and Greaves later saw a shot hit the post. That was after Nick Boshell was lucky to stay on the pitch after a poor challenge on Oliver Robinson as Carlton improved.

The Millers pushed on but it looked like they were heading towards a sixth home defeat in seven games until Betram's late late intervention.

Carlton drop to 15th in the table with 15 points from 14 games. They are next in action on Saturday when they travel to Pontefract Collieries.

A full report will be on site tomorrow.
