MILLERS LAUNCH LOTTERY BONUS BALL

Carlton Town held their AGM last night and the Committee decided to launch a bonus ball fund-raising scheme in the new season.

Full details and entry forms will be available soon, but the rules are simple - choose six numbers and hope that when the Lotto draws take place on a Wednesday and Saturday, the bonus ball is one of your six numbers.

Each player pays £2 per week and the first player to have all six numbers drawn wins the accumulated prize money. Half of all entry monies will go into the prize fund and half to the club.

Once the prize has been won, the competition starts again with the next draw.

Monies can be paid in cash through the club or by standing order and the club are looking to get as many people to support this initiative as possible.

Anyone can have a go and so members and supporters are encouraged to invite family and friends to participate - £2 per week for the chance to win hundreds of pounds seems quite a bargain to me.

In other news from the AGM, the accounts were approved and as always, the club is looking to give the manager as much support as possible within the confines of a tough financial environment.

The club will hold a quiz night in September (the reigning champions are ready to defend the title won two years ago) and in a fantastic coup, everyone's favourite Danish scouser Jan Molby, the man who famously scored three penalties in Liverpool's 3-1 win over Coventry City in the 1986-87 League Cup, will be here on 14 December as guest of honour at the Christmas Luncheon.

Lots more initiatives were discussed so watch this space.
