In the last of their three back to back away games in this mini run, the Millers visit table topping Stockton. Since these two last met just three weeks ago, Stockton’s form has remained strong albeit they weren’t able to find a winner against Cleethorpes last time out but the Anchors remain atop of the league ladder, a spot they’ve occupied since November 18th. Hebburn’s recent good run of form has cut that lead to seven points and the Hornets have a game in hand so Stockton will be focused on maintaining breathing space.
Carlton’s form since the New Year has been inconsistent. To underline that, the Millers have a draw, a win and a loss in the last three games. The 2-0 loss against Clee in midweek sees Carlton 8th in the table coming into this one. Of slight concern is that Carlton have drawn a blank in front of goal in two of the last three games. Having said that, only an inspired performance by Clee goalkeeper Heath Richardson prevented Carlton from registering in that match.
Stockton haven’t lost at home all season, a record stretching to sixteen games, and they’ve only failed to take maximum points on four occasions. An uphill battle awaits Carlton but the visitors boast a good away record with nine wins from fifteen games which is one of the best in the division.
There was little to separate these sides when they last met. Stockton won 2-1 but Carlton had plenty of chances, despite playing for half an hour with ten men. Any and all results are possible and a bumper crowd is expected in this bank holiday weekend clash.
