Aussie all-rounder will spend season with Carmel

Carmel have signed Australian Nick White as their overseas player for the 2017 season.

The 19-year-old all-rounder plays for Carlton Cricket Club in the Victorian Premier competition in his native Melbourne.

White, a leg-spinner and left-handed batsman, will link up with the club for the start of the season in mid-April.

"I am looking forward to spending a season with Carmel and challenging myself in different cricket conditions," White said.

"Carmel sound like a club really on the up at the moment so hopefully I can play my part in another successful season."

White joined Carmel after recommendation from Crusaders Australia and he will feature for the prestigious wandering team when they tour the UK in July.

Carmel have also re-signed two former players for the new season; batsman Danushka Fernandro has come back to the club after a season at Bersham while bowler Will Wallis has returned from Prestatyn.

Carmel captain Barry Mcgauty added: "After surviving in in NWCL Division One last year we are determined to kick on this season.

"Hopefully Nick will be a great addition to the side with his batting and bowling, as well as helping to bring on some of our junior players with his coaching.

"It's also great to have Danu and Will back at the club. With our Second XI winning promotion to the Premier Division last season it promises to be an exciting year ahead."
