Carmel's Alun Davies reports on a splendid day out on Sunday, September 18.

After an invitation from Carmel & District CC patron Lord Gregory Mostyn the club organised a special tour of Mostyn Hall recently for members and their family and friends.

Mostyn Hall is only open to the public on a handful of days, so the club were very fortunate to be afforded this opportunity, with ticket sales going towards club funds.

Organiser Alun Davies said: "We had a great day and 67 people joined us for the guided tours.

"There was representation from the club's senior players but also great support from parents of the junior section and even people not associated with the club.

"Paul Brighton was ably assisted by Margaret Blott, Gwladys Harrison, Morag Jelley in undertaking the guided tours of the hall and the gardens. And all did a splendid job.

"Lord Mostyn also had four staff present who assisted on the day. There was great company, great weather and the infromation provided by the guides was very informative.

"The food provided by Mostyn Hall, with some assistance from the club, was top notch!"

Alun would also like to thank his wife Andrea, daughter Elen and her husband Stuart for their help and support with organising the event.

In addition thanks are due from the to Nick and Sarah Hughes for their logistical and catering efforts as well as Whitford School for their support with parking and furniture.
